HS Graduation Rate = 87.04%
RCPS achieved the HIGHEST EVER four-year cohort graduation rate of 87.04% in 2023, topping the state!

CTAE Graduation Rate = 99.13%
An all-time high! The percentage of students who completed at least one CTAE career pathway and graduated on-time, career-ready; RCPS exceeded the state rate.

Advanced Academics:
Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement (AP) courses allow students to earn college credit while in high school. Unique partnerships with higher education such as Georgia Military College and Georgia Piedmont Technical College give RCPS students access to rigorous college courses without leaving the district. AP classes are offered at each high school.

AP Honor Schools & Scholars:
RCPS high schools have been distinguished as AP Honor Schools by the Georgia Department of Education for more than 13 consecutive years.
AP Scholars in RCPS for 2023 = 104. Georgia Department of Education honors students as AP Scholars based on their performance on AP Exams and classes.

Career-Ready:
RCPS offers more than 30 CTAE career pathways and industry certifications - such as Automotive, Healthcare, Culinary Arts, Film, Early Childhood Education, Marketing, Manufacturing - and Work Based Learning.

Specialty & Choice Programs:
Specialized programs offer students options to attend classes based on interests and talents. Students apply for these programs. Middle and high school programs allow students outside of their attendance zone to apply. Programs include performing and visual arts, pre-medical sciences, advanced technology, global business, entertainment, dual language immersion, AVID college preparatory, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and STEAM which adds the arts to STEM.

Virtual Options:
Families can choose virtual learning as the primary way for students in grades 1-12 to be educated. Rockdale Virtual Elementary and Rockdale Virtual Campus for middle and high school are open to all students annually.

Debt-Free School System:
Being fiscally responsible enables RCPS to be a debt-free school system saving property owners on their tax burdens as there is no bond millage rate.

SAT & ACT Scores Class of 2023:
SAT = 969 average,
ACT = 18.3 composite.

Low Student:Teacher Ratios:
Elementary = 19:1; Middle = 20:1; High = 20:1.

Scholarship Offers in the Millions:
RCPS graduates received more than $20.8 million in scholarship offers and enlisted in all branches of the U.S. Military. Schools attending include: Stanford, University of Chicago, Howard, Emory, Spelman, Morehouse, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Savannah College of Art & Design, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, University of Alabama, Clemson, George Washington University, Florida A&M, and more.  

One-to-One Technology:
Students in grades 2 through 12 receive a laptop for their personal use. Students in Pre-K through 1st grade have iPads for individual use.  

Extracurricular Excellence:
Students can explore a wide variety of activities and have a chance to shine through athletics, arts, leadership opportunities, career-related clubs and organizations, JROTC, academic competitions, and so much more.

Early Learning Collaborative:
Targeting moderate- to low-income families, RCPS offers educational opportunities for children ages birth to 4 years. Our award-winning Parents as Teachers program gives parents the support, skills, and tools to begin their child's educational journey at home.
   The Early Learning Center serves children ages 3 and 4 and holds the highest available accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). In addition, every RCPS elementary school offers Bright from the Start Georgia Pre-K classes.

Georgia Military College:
RCPS partnered with Georgia Military College (GMC) to open a satellite campus in Conyers, providing our students and local families with even more access to higher education opportunities.

Kids'-Doc-On-Wheels:
RCPS offers all students access to comprehensive pediatric telehealth and mobile health services through a unique partnership with Kids'-Doc-On-Wheels (KDOW). This convenient option for quality healthcare reduces time away from school and work for parents.

Exemplary Board:
The RCPS Board of Education holds the Exemplary Board distinction, the highest given by the Georgia School Boards Association for exceeding the standards for school system governance.

Outstanding Community Support:
The residents of Rockdale County have a long history of making education a priority. One example
is for more than 20 years approving E-SPLOST, which collects a one-cent sales tax to support capital projects of the school system.
    Local businesses participate in the Partners-In-Education program as well as provide high school students with invaluable hands-on work experience through internships and apprenticeships.    
    Volunteers make up the RCPS Foundation which provides teacher grants for innovative classroom projects, scholarships to assist graduates with higher education, and other support for the district.
